Arbroath has launched a new food product into the 'Fellowship' range. Joining other clubs around the country in raising funds for Rotary’s charity, The Rotary Foundation, the Arbroath Rotary Club has launched 'Arbroath Fellowship Smokies' where all profits will go to Rotary Foundation.
To preserve our margin for The Rotary Foundation, it has been necessary to increase the bottle price to £25 wef 1 April 2011. We resisted a price change on 4 January last when VAT increased to 20% but, as a consequence of the Budget on 23 March, the price increase from 1 April is regretable but unavoidable. We hope your customers will appreciate the circumstances here and our desire to maintain our margin to help the final push to readicate polio worldwide.
What’s the story here? Elgin Rotary has teamed up with family owned and managed firm, Gordon & MacPhail, to bottle, distribute and sell a unique single malt whisky – The Fellowship Malt. ‘Fellowship’ is a 10 year old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a difference! Supporting Rotary’s charity, Rotary Foundation, the proceeds of each bottle sold will buy 10 inoculations against polio. In the 18 months to 31 December 2010, over £ 6,500 has been generated from the sale of The Fellowship Malt: this is equivalent to 10,000 inoculations which helps support the international efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.
